This is the newest Electronic Conspicuity protocol that is rapidly increasing in popularity. Included in the PilotAware transmission is the aircraft's GPS location, barometric altitude and an ICAO code. Because this transmission gives the aircraft a location and altitude, the aircraft can be plotted as target with a co ordinate. All PilotAware device's both transmit and receive this protocol.
The following data is rebroadcast using our vase array of ATOM stations, broadcast the locations of aircraft and additional data directly to PilotAware devices.
Flarm is another protocol adopted by the GA and Gliding community. FLARM transmits an encrypted packet of data that includes the aircraft's GPS location, barometric altitude and a FLARM-ID which is a pseudo ICAO code. This is a target with a bearing. Learn More>Mode-S/3D:
PilotAware is in collaboration with 360Radar for this project. Using 360Radar's 800+ transponder receiving ground stations, PilotAware is now able to uplink the multilateration (MLAT) data to provide the bearingless Mode-S transponders, with a bearing. Learn MoreMETARS
METARS demonstrate the power of our centralised network (GRID). As of May 2020, real time METAR data soured directly from NOAA, will be rebroadcast to PilotAware units from ATOM stations at 5 minute intervals.Learn More>
