Multiple traffic inputs. One clearer picture.

PilotAware FX combines multiple traffic sources into one clearer picture. It can detect ADS-B, ADS-L and PilotAware transmissions directly, while FLARM, Mode-S/3D and other timestamped traffic can be added through ATOM, SkyGRID and iGRID where available. The result is a broader view of surrounding traffic on your favourite EFB or compatible RS232 avionics display.

The Grid network

Connected services that extend traffic awareness

PilotAware FX can use connected GRID services to add traffic information beyond what the unit receives directly over the air. These services support different methods of extending coverage depending on connectivity and location, and are included within the PilotAware ecosystem at no extra cost.

ATOM GRID

Ground Network
‍ATOM GRID is a network of connected ground stations. It supports the distribution of traffic information and rebroadcast services, allowing PilotAware FX to display additional traffic where ground network coverage is available.

iGRID

Cellular Data
iGRID uses mobile data connectivity through your hotspot or router to deliver supported traffic information to the cockpit. This allows PilotAware FX to receive additional network-supplied traffic data beyond its direct air-to-air reception capability.

SkyGRID

Airborne Relay
SkyGRID uses high-flying PilotAware-equipped aircraft to rebroadcast traffic information down to lower levels. This helps improve continuity in areas where ground-based coverage may be limited, particularly at low altitude.

RS232 Serial Output

Feeds selected compatible avionics such as Dynon SkyView, LXNAV and LXNavigation displays.

FLARM Integration

Connect your FLARM to the FX input to use the FLARM GPS and display live FLARM reports directly into your EFB or display through FX.

GPS SIL=0 Output

Connect your Mode-S Extended Squitter transponder to the FX serial output to get SIL=0 ADS-B out, making you more conspicuious.

Live METAR Updates

Live METAR reports from major airports are uplinked to FX through ATOM stations and over iGRID. With an ituitive display running in browser to easily see the conditions at local airfields.

Over the Air Updates

With no need for USBs or SD card the FX can update directly over the phone offline, or if connected to a hotspot, perform over the air software updates without any interaction required.
